The Decorative Landscape Borders Installation
Process
Ground Preparation:
The ground is prepared using a bed trencher to make
a trench that will accommodate the curb.
Mixing:
The concrete is mixed to proper proportions in a mortar
mixer to create a strong and durable concrete product.
If color is desired, it is added to the concrete at
this stage.
Installation:
Concrete is wheeled to the site and fed into the automatic
extrusion machine. The curbing is extruded into a continuous
border. Specially designed trowels are used to smooth
and finish the border.
Texture/Stamp:
If a texture or stamps is desired, special tools are
used to achieve the look of stone, pavers, brick or a
variety of other patterns.
Expansion Joints:
As an added precaution to ground shifting or movement
which may occur, control joints are added to the curb.
This provides some flexibility to the finished product.
